Mrs. Adams is a proud native of Mundelein, IL and so happy to be serving the community in which she grew up.
Mrs. Adams started her nursing career at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL. She then received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Addison, IL. As an RN, she worked in multiple departments within the hospital setting ranging from medical-surgical to orthopedics to oncology. She also served at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, IL for over 7 years before becoming a nurse practitioner. It was there that she found her love of holistic nursing and in turn, holistic health care. She was able to see doctors utilize homeopathy, supplements, and other complementary modalities to aid in the treatment and recovery of multiple patients.
Mrs. Adams feels blessed to have joined Dr. Joseph Starkman in his practice. Not only does it allow her to incorporate natural treatments, but encourages her growth and education.

Therese lives and breathes the osteopathic life, so is a treasure-trove of insights on functional medicine. My first visit eliminated my need for BP pills, as my blood panel revealed I was magnesium deficient. I love the fact that real science (and not pharma propoganda) helps to treat the cause of the illness vs. symptoms.

Therese Adams has been an amazing find for our family! Her comprehensive approach takes into account the entire person, and she first looks to uncover and address root causes with natural remedies (as opposed to masking with prescriptions). I would highly recommend Therese and the entire staff at Osteopathic Healing Arts!

The first time we met Therese Adams, nurse practitioner, we knew we made the right decision. She took the time to get to know our daughter, who has special needs. Therese has been very caring, attentive and patient, which is exactly what our daughter needs. Response to our questions are answered without the wait and hassle. Therese Adams is awesome, she is my general practitioner, homeopath, and so much more. She truly cares about your whole health and gives really good suggestions. She uses many treatments that promotes long term health and brings your body back to a healthy balance in mind, body and spirit. I have been with her since 2020 and I pray there is never a reason I have to go back to western medicine. I have never felt better and rarely when I do fall ill she has always been there for me.

NP Therese is an outstanding provider with an incredible bedside manner. She listens with compassion, explains things thoroughly, and genuinely cares about her patients’ well-being. My daughter been a patient here for the past four years, and I’m so grateful to have found such a thoughtful and effective approach to healthcare.

As a retired military guy I have entrusted my entire healthcare responsibilities to Therese and she hasn't let me down one bit. She's responsive, caring, always has answers as to which way my healthcare should go and always follows up with me. My family care is entrusted to her as well, best healthcare decision I've ever made. I recommend her services to all of my friends trying to take OTC meds that only get you hooked on things your body doesn't need. I'm 100% happy with the services provided!!

One of the smartest decisions I have ever made in my life is to join Osteopathic Healing . The staff is wonderful and so friendly! Therese Adams has been nothing short of amazing!! Therese was very warm, knowledgeable, professional and made me feel like she was interested in my life more than some of my friends are. She fixed my knee within minutes. She gave me whole bunch of good suggestions. She made me feel like i am a complicated system, not one organ or body part , like the rest of doctors make you feel. I really love this place for their services. They are compassionate, understanding and really take the time for any issues or concerns. When a plan is put together they are very thorough, making sure you have a clear understanding for your better health. Follow up is great and working together is the common goal.
