Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

We are excited to offer the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) as a new treatment option for our patients.

The SSP is a non-invasive, evidence-based therapy designed to reduce the effects of stress and improve the balance of the autonomic nervous system through stimulating the vagus nerve with sound. It is useful for treating anxiety, PTSD, sensory processing issues and many other conditions. Research has shown that the SSP can significantly improve emotional regulation, social engagement, and stress management.

We begin the SSP process by conducting a thorough evaluation to determine if it is the right treatment option for you or your child. If the SSP is appropriate, we will schedule the therapy sessions and provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the process.

The SSP sessions are conducted in the comfort of your own home, typically lasting 60 minutes. The protocol involves listening to specifically filtered music through over the ear headphones. We recommend doing something relaxing during the treatment. This can be laying in bed, coloring, or doing a word search.

If you or your child is experiencing increased stress, anxiety, sensory overload, or other related issues, please contact us to learn if the Safe and Sound Protocol could be the right therapy for you. We are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality of care and look forward to assisting you on your journey to improved emotional regulation and sensory processing.
